Title: DNC Simulation Results and Risk Assessment

Abstract

The performance of Dynamic Natural Circulation (DNC) systems during a station blackout in a pressurizer water reactor was evaluated. Thermal-hydraulic calculations of a PWR with passive DNC systems were performed using RELAP5-3D. The effects of the DNC systems on the cumulative core damage frequency during a station blackout was evaluated using probabilistic and risk assessment methods.
