Title: 250 kWt Pilot Testing in Support of a 10 MWe Coal-Direct Chemical Looping Demonstration Feasibility Study

Abstract

The Babcock & Wilcox Company and The Ohio State University have constructed a 250 kWt coal direct chemical looping pilot facility at the Babcock & Wilcox Research Center in Barberton, Ohio. Testing was conducted on the facility to support installation of a 10 MWe coal direct chemical looping large pilot facility at the Dover Light & Power Plant in Dover, Ohio. Results of the testing and their impact on the design of the large pilot facility are discussed.
