Passive Corrosion Rate Testing of Vapor Space Coupons Exposed to 50ppm Ammonia Gas in Simulated Hanford Hazardous Waste
- Washington River Protection Solutions, LLC. (WRPS), Richland, WA (United States)
This report documents the results from WRPS-1500719 Rev. 1, “Work Plan for Determining the Corrosion Inhibition Properties of Ammonia on A285 Carbon Steel in Aggressive Single-Shell Tank Waste and Simulants.” The test plan was generated to investigate the effects of ammonia gas on vapor space corrosion rates over a 9-month timeframe. During that time, 50 ppm ammonia gas was bubbled through half of the simulant jars and compressed air was bubbled through the other half of the jars.
