Title: Final technical report for DE-SC0006957 Center for Simulation of Plasma Microturbulence

Abstract

This final report for the CSPM (Center for Simulation of Plasma Microturbulence) project documents contributions from University of California, San Diego researchers over the period of 9/1/2011 – 8/31/2018. The primary focus of these efforts was on performing validation studies using the GYRO code, addressing topics such as finite-beta effects on H-mode transport and turbulence physics mechanisms in electron transport dominated regimes. Key results and products of the work include a formalized system of turbulent transport validation metrics and the first multiscale gyrokinetic simulations of coupled ion and electron scale turbulence, for physically realistic and experimentally measured parameters.
