Since discovering an unexpected accumulation of uranium in the Reduction Area of Building 9212 last June, CNS has been executing an extent-of-condition review that has led to additional discoveries of uranium accumulation. In all instances of accumulation discoveries, CNS has paused operations while executing corrective actions to address identified issues. CNS is aggressively addressing the underlying causes of the accumulations across its facilities and programs, to include expanding and accelerating the scope of extent-of-condition walk-downs and improvement actions.
