Optical Tuning in the Arcs and Final Focus Sections of the Stanford Linear Collider
- Stanford Univ., Stanford, CA (United States)
In this thesis, we present the experimental tuning procedures developed for the Arcs and for the Final Focus Section of the Standard Linear Collider (SLC). Such tuning is necessary to maximize the luminosity, by minimizing the beam size at the interaction point, and to reduce backgrounds in the experiment.
