Title: Results of the Irradiation and Processing of Ultra-High Purity Sintered Natural Molybdenum Target Disks

Abstract

A fine orange-brown powder was observed on the irradiated molybdenum (Mo) disks and on the target housing for irradiations that were performed in fiscal year (FY) 20 15 [1, 2]. The source of the powder was later identified as coming from the helium (He) cooling loop and corrosion of the carbon (C)-steel shielding enclosure.
