Title: Precision Aluminum Forming Final Report CRADA No. TC-0187-91

Abstract

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), and ALCOA Technical Center joined together to advance the state of the art in computation analysis of aluminum forming processes. LLNL and SNL developed numerical modeling tools that incorporated material models and interface models provided by ALCOA. The two DOE laboratories and ALCOA jointly participated in the validation of the software package by modeling a set of benchmark forming data in the areas of rolling, forging, and extrusion. These forming benchmarks were produced by ALCOA. The software package was delivered to ALCOA and is being used in forming research.
