Title: Bound {ital P} states ({ital L}=1) and {ital D} states ({ital L}=2) of three-body muonic molecular ions

Abstract

The results of highly accurate calculations are presented for all nine of the known bound {ital P} states ({ital L}=1) and {ital D} states ({ital L}=2) of the six three-body muonic molecular ions (mesomolecules): {ital pp}{mu}, {ital pd}{mu}, {ital pt}{mu}, {ital dd}{mu}, {ital dt}{mu}, and {ital tt}{mu}. The mass shift (mass gradient) was determined for each ion for the lowest {ital P} and {ital D} states and for the first ``vibrationally`` excited {ital P} states. The threshold mass ratios {lambda}{sub {ital t}}={ital m}{sub {ital Y}}/{ital m}{sub {ital X}} for the lowest bound {ital P} and {ital D} states in symmetric systems such as {ital X}{sup +}{ital X+}{ital Y{minus}} were determined, with improved accuracy, to be {lambda}{sub {ital t}}({ital P})=0.237 34 and {lambda}{sub {ital t}}({ital D})=0.0891.
