Flexible configurationinteraction shellmodel manybody solver
Abstract
BIGSTICK Is a flexible configurationInteraction opensource shellmodel code for the manyfermion problem In a shell model (occupation representation) framework. BIGSTICK can generate energy spectra, static and transition onebody densities, and expectation values of scalar operators. Using the builtin Lanczos algorithm one can compute transition probabflity distributions and decompose wave functions into components defined by group theory.

Highly accurate configuration interaction and manybody perturbation theory calculations are shown to be possible with piecewise polynomial basis functions. In a preliminary calculation on the helium atom ground state, a new upper bound of 2.8790286 a.u. is found for the radial limit.

Tensor contraction engine: Abstraction and automated parallel implementation of configurationinteraction, coupledcluster, and manybody perturbation theories
We develop a symbolic manipulation program and program generator (Tensor Contraction Engine or TCE) that automatically derives the working equations of a welldefined model of secondquantized manyelectron theories and synthesizes efficient parallel computer programs on the basis of these equations. Provided an ansatz of a manyelectron theory model, TCE performs valid contractions of creation and annihilation operators according to Wick's theorem, consolidates identical terms, and reduces the expressions into the form of multiple tensor contractions acted by permutation operators. Subsequently, it determines the binary contraction order for each multiple tensor contraction with the minimal operation and memory cost, factorizes commonmore »
Mixed configurationinteraction and manybody perturbationtheory calculations of energies and oscillator strengths of J=1 odd states of neon
Ab initio theory is developed for energies of J=1 particlehole states of neutral neon and for oscillator strengths of transitions from such states to the J=0 ground state. Hole energies of lowZ neonlike ions are evaluated.
Energies of 1s{sup 2}2l {sup q} (1 q 8) states for Z 60 with a combined configuration interaction and manybody perturbation theory approach
Using a combined configuration interaction and manybody perturbation theory approach, we calculate the level energies of 1s{sup 2}2l {sup q} (1 q 8) states for ions with Z 60. Comparison with experimental results wherever available indicates that the calculated energies are accurate to within a few 1000 cm{sup 1} for all ions except for nearneutral systems which are less than 23 times ionized. The ground state ionization energies of these ions are also reported and compared with experimental values.
