Chiral extrapolations of the ρ(770) meson in Nf=2+1 lattice QCD simulations

Title: Chiral extrapolations of the $ρ (770)$ meson in $N_{f} = 2 + 1$ lattice QCD simulations

Abstract

Recent $$N_f=2+1$$ lattice data for meson-meson scattering in $$p$$-wave and isospin $I=1$ are analyzed using a unitarized model inspired by Chiral Perturbation Theory in the inverse-amplitude formulation for two and three flavors. We perform chiral extrapolations that postdict phase shifts extracted from experiment quite well. Additionally, the low-energy constants are compared to the ones from a recent analysis of $$N_f=2$$ lattice QCD simulations to check for the consistency of the hadronic model used here. Some inconsistencies are detected in the fits to $$N_f=2+1$$ data, in contrast to the previous analysis of $$N_f=2$$ data.

Here, the ρ(770) meson is the most extensively studied resonance in lattice QCD simulations in two (N_f = 2) and three (N_f = 2 + 1) flavor formulations. We analyze N_f = 2 lattice scattering data using unitarized chiral perturbation theory, allowing not only for the extrapolation in mass but also in flavor, N_f = 2 → N_f = 2 + 1. The flavor extrapolation requires information from a global fit to ππ and πK phase shifts from experiment. $| V_{u s} |$ from $K_{ℓ 3}$ decay and four-flavor lattice QCD

Using HISQ $$N_f=2+1+1$$ MILC ensembles with five different values of the lattice spacing, including four ensembles with physical quark masses, we have performed the most precise computation to date of the $K opiell u$ vector form factor at zero momentum transfer, $$f_+^{K^0pi^-}(0)=0.9696(15)_ ext{stat}(12)_ ext{syst}$$. This is the first calculation that includes the dominant finite-volume effects, as calculated in chiral perturbation theory at next-to-leading order. Our result for the form factor provides a direct determination of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element $$|V_{us}|=0.22333(44)_{f_+(0)}(42)_ ext{exp}$$, with a theory error that is, for the first time, at the same level as the experimental error. Three-Body Dynamics of the $a_{1} (1260)$ Resonance from Lattice QCD

Resonant hadronic systems often exhibit a complicated decay pattern in which three-body dynamics play a relevant or even dominant role. In this work we focus on the $$a_1(1260)$$ resonance. For the first time, the pole position and branching ratios of a three-body resonance are calculated from lattice QCD using one-, two-, and three-meson interpolators and a three-body finite-volume formalism extended to spin and coupled channels. This marks a new milestone for ab-initio studies of ordinary resonances along with hybrid and exotic hadrons involving three-body dynamics.

Finite-Volume Spectrum of $π^{+} π^{+}$ and $π^{+} π^{+} π^{+}$ Systems

Here, the ab initio understanding of hadronic three-body systems above threshold, such as exotic resonances or the baryon spectrum, requires the mapping of the finite-volume eigenvalue spectrum, produced in lattice QCD calculations, to the infinite volume. We present the first application of such a formalism to a physical system in form of three interacting positively charged pions. The results for the ground state energies agree with the available lattice QCD results by the NPLQCD collaboration at unphysical pion masses. Observation of $D^{+} \to f_{0} (500) e^{+} ν_{e}$ and Improved Measurements of $D \to ρ e^{+} ν_{e}$

Utilizing a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb^-1 recorded by the BESIII detector at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we present an analysis of the decays D⁰→π^-π⁰e⁺v_e and D⁺→π^-π⁺e⁺v_e . Using a partial wave analysis, the π⁺π^- S-wave contribution to D⁺→π^-π⁺e⁺v_e is observed for the first time besides the dominant P-wave contribution; the statistical significance is greater than 10σ with its measured fraction (25.7 ± 1.6 ± 1.1)%. We measure the branching fractions $$\mathcal{B(D^0→p^-e^+v_e)}$$ = (1.445 ± 0.058 ± 0.039) × 10^-3, $$\mathcal{B(D^+→p^0e^+v_e)}$$ = (1.860 ± 0.070 ± 0.061) × 10^-3 and $$\mathcal{B(D^+→f_0(500)e^+v_e)}$$, f₀(500)→ π⁺π^{more » -}) = (6.30 ± 0.43 ± 0.32) × 10^-4. An upper limit of $$\mathcal{B(D^+→f_0(980)e^+v_e)}$$, f₀(980)→π⁺π^-) < 2.8 × 10^-5 is set at the 90% confidence level. We also obtain the hadronic form factor ratios of D→ρe⁺v_e at q² = 0 assuming the single-pole dominance parameterization: r_v= {[V(0)]/[A₁(0)]} = 1.695 ± 0.083 ± 0.051, r₂ = {[A₂(0)]\[A₁(0)]} = 0.845 ± 0.056 ± 0.039.« less
