Title: Unclassified Data Export from the Containment Database

Abstract

The attached dataset is an unclassified subset of data copied from the CDB for release to a wider audience. It includes only the clearly unclassified columns from each of the tables in the CDB, and only the rows related to announced tests. Also included is a glossary that lists each of the tables and columns included in the export with its definition, historical labels, unit of measure, and reference information. Our objective is to make this unclassified dataset available for querying on an unclassified server through a repeatable process.

  • Diffusion data for Nb, Zr, and U systems are reviewed. The general definition of the diffusion coefficient, specific definitions of vartous diffusion coefficients, variation of diffusion coefficient with temperature, reliability of measured diffusion constants, and layer growth rates are discussed. Self-diffusion coefficients are given for Zr, Nb, Sn, and U. Coefficients for the diffusion of gases in Zr and Nb and for self-diffusion in Zr alloys and Nb alloys are presented. Growth constants for intermediate layer formation in uranium alloys are given. (M.C.G.)
  • The bibliography contains citations concerning the design characteristics, performance, and materials used to make liners for the waste disposal and storage industry. Liners made of concrete, polymeric materials, compacted clays, asphalt, and in-situ glass are discussed. The use of these liners to contain municipal wastes, hazardous waste liquids, and both low-level and high-level radioactive wastes is presented. Liner permeability, transport, stability, construction, and design are studied. Laboratory field measurements for specific wastes are included.
