  • The Locomotive Data Acquisition Package (LDAP) is a complete data acquisition system designed specifically for use on board railroad locomotives to study locomotive performance while in normal over-the-road operations. It is a semi-portable system requiring only limited installation support commonly found in railroad shops. The system may be applied to study energy conservation measures as well as train dynamics. This volume describes a Locomotive Analysis Software Package consisting of 12 software programs which may be used for data verification, data reduction, and analysis of data collected by the Locomotive Data Acquisition Package. Baseline data is provided to illustrate the usemore » of the analytical software which has been developed. While the programming has been developed for use on a DEC PDP-11 computer the language and format is suited to use on other computer systems.« less
  • EQ3/6 is a software package for geochemical modeling of aqueous systems. This report describes version 7.0. The major components of the package include: EQ3NR, a speciation-solubility code; EQ6, a reaction path code which models water/rock interaction or fluid mixing in either a pure reaction progress mode or a time mode; EQPT, a data file preprocessor, EQLIB, a supporting software library; and five supporting thermodynamic data files. The software deals with the concepts of thermodynamic equilibrium, thermodynamic disequilibrium, and reaction kinetics. The five supporting data files contain both standard state and activity coefficient-related data. Three support the use of the Daviesmore » or B-dot equations for the activity coefficients; the other two support the use of Pitzer`s equations. The temperature range of the thermodynamic data on the data files varies from 25{degree}C only to 0--300{degree}C. EQPT takes a formatted data file (a data0 file) and writes an unformatted near-equivalent called a datal file, which is actually the form read by EQ3NR and EQ6. EQ3NR is useful for analyzing groundwater chemistry data, calculating solubility limits, and determining whether certain reactions are in states of partial equilibrium or disequilibrium. It is also required to initialize an EQ6 calculation. EQ6 models the consequences of reacting an aqueous solution with a set of reactants which react irreversibly. It can also model fluid mixing and the consequences of changes in temperature. This code operates both in a pure reaction progress frame and in a time frame.« less

  • The tape contains Locomotive Analysis Software Package for analyzing the data collected by a Locomotive Data Acquisition Package (LDAP). The LDAP is designed to study the locomotive performance and may be applied to study the energy conservation measures as well as train dynamics. The locomotive analysis software package consists of 12 computer programs which, along with the subroutines, reside on 31 files on the tape. These programs may be used for data verification, data reduction and analysis of data collected by LDAP. While the programs have been developed for use on a DEC PDP 11/70 computer, the language and formatmore » is suitable for use on other computer systems...Software Description: The system is written in the FORTRAN programming language for implementation on a DEC PDP 11/70 computer using the IAS version 3.1 operating system. The computer memory requirement is 64K.« less
  • The TRACES computer program relates the radioactivity concentration in up to 12 specific environmental media to the potential radiation dose to a member of the public via up to 21 exposure pathways. It can calculate doses arising from environmental contamination of short duration (short term accidental release) or personal exposure of short duration (if the receptor evacuates). It can also be used to calculate potential dose equivalent associated with radioactive environmental media arising from long term discharges (operating effluent).
