The Materials Project

(Te)8(I)3 crystallizes in the monoclinic Cm space group. The structure is two-dimensional and consists of sixteen telloy molecules and three I sheets oriented in the (0, 0, 1) direction. In each I sheet, I1- is bonded in a square co-planar geometry to four equivalent I1- atoms. All I–I bond lengths are 3.25 Å.
