Title: Ioss IO Subsystem

Abstract

The Ioss is a database-independent package for providing an object-oriented, abstract interface to IO capabilities for a finite element application; and concrete database interfaces which provided input and/or output to exodusII, xdmf, generated, and heartbeat database formats. The Ioss provides an object-oriented C++-based IO interface for a finite element application code. The application code can perform all IO operations through the Ioss interface which is typically at a higher abstraction level than the concrete database formats. The Ioss then performs the needed operations to translate the finite element data to the specific format required by the concrete database implementations. The Ioss currently supports interfaces to exodusII, xdmf, generated, and heartbeat formats, but additional formats can be easily added.

  • "IO Subsystem Ver. 1.0 Beta" uses standard object-oriented principles to minimize dependencies between the underlying input or output database format and the client code (i.e., Sierra) using the io subsystem. The interface and priciples are simolar to the Facade pattern described in the "Design Patterns" book by Gamma, et.al. The software uses data authentication algorithms to ensure data input/output is consistent with model being defined. "IO Subsystem Ver. 1.0 Beta" is a database independent input/output library for finite element analysis, preprocessing, post processing, and translation programs.
  • This plan describes the activities to be performed and the controls to be applied to the process of specifying, developing, and qualifying the data acquisition software for the Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator (RTG) Transportation System Subsystem 143 Instrumentation and Data Acquisition System (IDAS). This plan will serve as a software quality assurance plan, a verification and validation (V and V) plan, and a configuration management plan.
  • This Functional Requirements Specification for the 10 MWe Solar Thermal Power Plant Collector Subsystem software provides: (1) the system functional requirements to be satisfied and shall be the basis for mutual understanding between the customer and the developer; and (2) the basis for development of software/firmware testing during the System Level Test. The software for the 10 MWe Solar Thermal Plant Collector Subsystem (Phase II) shall have the capability to allow operator control of up to 2048 heliostats in the operation of the pilot plant at Barstow, California. This function includes the capability of OCS, BCS, and DAS interface, systemmore » redundancy, as well as operator commanded mode control, graphic display, status display, and alarm generation.« less
