Analysis of K{sup +}{yields}e{sup +}{nu}{sub e}{gamma} in lightfront quark model and chiral perturbation theory of order p{sup 6}
Within the frameworks of the lightfront quark model (LFQM) and chiral perturbation theory (ChPT) of O(p{sup 6}), we reevaluate the form factors of the K{sup +}{yields}{gamma} transition. We use these form factors to study the decay of K{sup +}{yields}e{sup +}{nu}{sub e}{gamma}, which is dominated by the structuredependent contribution. We show the differential decay branching ratio as a function of x=2E{sub {gamma}}/m{sub K}, where E{sub {gamma}}(m{sub K}) is the photon energy (kaon mass). Explicitly, we find that, in the standard model with the cut of x=0.01 (0.1), the decay branching ratio of K{sup +}{yields}e{sup +}{nu}{sub e}{gamma} is 1.54(1.44)x10{sup 5} and 1.57(1.47)x10{supmore »
Light pseudoscalar mesons in a nonlocal three flavor chiral quark model
We study the properties of light pseudoscalar mesons in a three flavor chiral quark model with nonlocal separable interactions. We consider the case of a Gaussian regulator, evaluating meson masses and decay constants. Our results are found to be in good agreement with empirical values, in particular, in the case of the ratio f{kappa}/f{pi} and the decay {pi}0 {yields} {gamma}{gamma}. The model leads also to a reasonable description of the observed phenomenology in the {eta} {eta}' sector, where two significantly different mixing angles are required. Detailed description of the work sketched here can be found elsewhere.
Mixing angles and electromagnetic properties of ground state pseudoscalar and vector meson nonets in the lightcone quark model
Both the mass spectra and the wave functions of the light pseudoscalar ({pi},K,{eta},{eta}{sup {prime}}) and vector({rho},K{sup {asterisk}},{omega},{phi}) mesons are analyzed within the framework of the lightcone constituent quark model. A Gaussian radial wave function is used as a trial function of the variational principle for a QCDmotivated Hamiltonian which includes not only the Coulomb plus confining potential but also the hyperfine interaction to obtain the correct {rho}{pi} splitting. For the confining potential, we use the (1) harmonic oscillator potential and (2) linear potential and compare the numerical results for these two cases. Gluon excitations and quark chiral symmetry in the meson spectrum: An einbein solution to the large degeneracy problem of light mesons
A large approximate degeneracy appears in the light meson spectrum measured at the CERN low energy antiproton ring, suggesting a novel principal quantum number n+j in QCD spectra. We recently showed that the large degeneracy could not be understood with stateoftheart confining and chiral invariant quark models, derived in a truncated Coulomb gauge. To search for a solution to this problem, here we add the gluon or string degrees of freedom. Although independently the quarks or the gluons would lead to a 2n+j or 2n+l spectrum, adding them together may lead to the desired n+j pattern.
