Title: US-VISIT Identity Matching Algorithm Evaluation Program: ADIS Algorithm Evaluation Project Plan Update

Abstract

This document is an update to the 'ADIS Algorithm Evaluation Project Plan' specified in the Statement of Work for the US-VISIT Identity Matching Algorithm Evaluation Program, as deliverable II.D.1. The original plan was delivered in August 2010. This document modifies the plan to reflect modified deliverables reflecting delays in obtaining a database refresh. This document describes the revised schedule of the program deliverables. The detailed description of the processes used, the statistical analysis processes and the results of the statistical analysis will be described fully in the program deliverables. The US-VISIT Identity Matching Algorithm Evaluation Program is work performed by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) under IAA HSHQVT-07-X-00002 P00004 from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

  • At the request of the United States Trade and Development program and in partnership with the US private engineering, construction and equipment sector, the Tennessee Valley Authority hosted four TEK technical experts from July 12 to August 2, 1986. Purpose of the delegation's visit was to examine a wide range of power-facilities used in this country and to become familiar with the associated capabilities of the US electric utility industry. Of specific interest to the delegates was information about the industry's capabilities in regard to the rehabilitation of power system facilities. The visitation program was organized to provide exposure tomore » a representative sampling of the generation, transmission, and distribution components of a typical American power system and to give coverage to many of the standard principles and practices involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of each of these power components and the management of the system as a whole.« less
  • The Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation (SITE) Emerging Technology Program (ETP) has encouraged and financially supported further development of bench- and pilot-scale testing and evaluation of innovative technologies suitable for use at hazardous waste sites for five years. The ETP was established under the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) of 1986. The ETP complies with the goal of the SITE Program to promote, accelerate and make commercially available the development of alternative/innovative treatment technologies for use at Superfund sites. Technologies are submitted to the ETP through yearly solicitations for Preprosals. Facilities, equipment, data collection, performance and development are monitored throughoutmore » the project. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Air Force (USAF) are participants in the ETP. DOE has co-funded ETP projects since 1990 and the USAF since 1991. A primary goal of the ETP is to move developed technologies to the field-demonstration stage. Therefore, a developer may be considered for participation in the SITE Demonstration Program provided performance in the ETP indicates the technology is field-ready for demonstration and evaluation.« less

  • This document describes the computational and data systems available at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for use on the US-VISIT Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) project. This system - composed of data, software and hardware - is designed to be as close as a representation of the operational ADIS system as is required to verify and validate US-VISIT methodologies. It is not required to reproduce the computational capabilities of the enterprise-class operational system. During FY10, the test bed was simplified from the FY09 version by reducing the number of database host computers from three to one, significantly reducing the maintenancemore » and overhead while simultaneously increasing system throughput. During the current performance period, a database transfer was performed as a set of Data Pump Export files. The previous RMAN backup from 2007 required the availability of an AIX system which is not required when using data pump. Due to efficiencies in the new system and process, loading of the database refresh was able to be accomplished in a much shorter time frame than was previously required. The FY10 Oracle Test Bed now consists of a single Linux platform hosting two Oracle databases including the 2007 copy as well as the October 2010 refresh.« less
  • The DOE National Solar Photovoltaic Conversion Program is structured into several interrelated projects which address the major segments of the overall effort. Of these segments the responsibility for conducting the Systems Definition and Concentrator Technology Development Projects is assigned to Sandia Laboratories. The Concentrator Technology Development Project has as its overall goal to develop low-cost reliable photovoltaic concentrator subsystems. The evolution of these collectors demands on determining the positive and negative aspects of developmental collector materials and configurations and feeding this information back into the design process. Therefore, the effectiveness of each collector needs to be evaluated in detail frommore » the viewpoint of efficiency and lifecycle costs. A brief description of Sandia's capabilities and plans for carrying out this testing is presented.« less
