Various types of STI are available via OSTI databases; you can find research results and science information from the Manhattan Project to the present, including technical reports, citations, patents, and software.
Patents
DOepatents is the U.S. Department of Energy's central collection of patent information, where research and development intersect with innovation and invention. This collection demonstrates the Department's considerable contribution to scientific progress from the 1940s to today.
Software
The Energy Science and Technology Software Center (ESTSC) is the centralized software management facility for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). A component of the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the ESTSC licenses and distributes scientific and technical (S&T) software developed by DOE contractors, national laboratories, and other facilities. This S&T software is a form of scientific and technical information (STI) resulting from DOE-funded research and development (R&D).
Technical Reports
The Information Bridge provides free public access to over 266,000 full-text documents and bibliographic citations of Department of Energy (DOE) research report literature. Documents are primarily from 1991 forward and were produced by DOE, the DOE contractor community, and/or DOE grantees. Legacy documents are added as they become available in electronic format.
Scientific Research Data
The DOE Data Explorer (DDE) provides access to scientific research data - such as computer simulations, numeric data files, figures and plots, interactive maps, multimedia, and scientific images - generated in the course of DOE-sponsored research in various science disciplines.
