2007 STIP Working
Meeting (Kathy Waldrop)
Suggested Topics - We are finalizing the preliminary agenda for the April 25-26 STIP Working Meeting. OSTI will send out an e-mail when the preliminary agenda has been posted on the STIP Website. One of the recommended topics for the STIP Meeting was how other labs have dealt with contract transition from perspective of the pros and cons; what happened to the operations side at these Labs; and especially what happened with their information budgets. After some discussion with the STI Managers the consensus of the sites representatives on the call who had gone through transitions had not experienced impacts to their STI programs and that there was nothing to share on this topic?
Hotel - By March 20th,
be sure to register at the Imperial Palace Hotel. (The reservation line is
1-800-800-2981; reference the 2007 STIP Meeting to get the special room
rate).
Combined Tour – The combined tour
of
Janine Ford is preparing general information as well as a box lunch
order form, and required information that will have to be completed for the DOE
Nevada Office. All information related to the tour will have to be completed
and sent back to Kathy Waldrop, OSTI by March 28.
Tuesday, April 24th - STIP Orientation
will start at 8:30 am and Tuesday afternoon there will be separate breakout
sessions of Federal (beginning at 1:30 pm) and contractor employees; make sure
to notify OSTI by April 13, of your plans to participate in any of the Tuesday
sessions to ensure enough handouts are available.
Wednesday, April
25th – Thursday, April 26th – There will be
two full days of the STIP Working Meeting. OSTI is working with the STIP
Meeting hosts to find a restaurant that can accommodate the Wednesday group dinner.
We may return to Buzio’s at the Rio which worked out fairly well the last time
the STIP Meeting was held in
Sensitivity Review
Questionnaire (Kathy Waldrop) – OSTI is preparing a questionnaire that will be sent
out either this week or next asking each STI Manager to complete and send back
to OSTI by April 2. The process is a
fact gathering effort and not a gotcha effort in an attempt to determine if we
are on the same page in terms of the sensitivity and secondary sensitivity reviews
and digitizing and remarking documents, etc., especially since some
requirements can be very vague and left to interpretation. Originally, OSTI
planned to mark document OUO, however, after some discussion amongst the
participants of the teleconference it was determined this in not
necessary. If a site’s response to any
of the questions makes the document OUO, they should mark it as such and return
it to OSTI through appropriate means.

from across the Department to review the R&D Records Schedule. The first conference call of the Research and
Development Records Schedule Working Group is scheduled for March 27, at which
time the group’s charter will be discussed.
