The STI Program routinely
experiences turnover among the Department-wide STI Points-of-Contacts (POCs),
thereby creating different levels of understanding of the STI Program
and the related roles and responsibilities. Because of this, the STIP
Community agreed that it would be valuable to develop an STI training
tool or orientation page to facilitate in teaching new people who have
assumed the role of the STI POC for their site or organization, provide
a refresher for not-so-new STI POCs, and to provide background
information for individuals who are potential STI POC candidates.
The online orientation information is broken into four sections and each
section has several related sub-parts. Other information that is not not
conducive for online posting is included when STI Training is offered in
conjunction with a face-to-face meeting.
