• STI takes the form of journal articles, gray literature reports, e-prints

• Federal STI function:

- Each R&D Agency has an organization dedicated to getting mileage out of its STI

- The DOE organization is the Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) (www.osti.gov)
