An Alternative Injection Scheme for Heavy Ions into RHIC

In this paper, we extend the idea of accelerating ions with a filled K-shell to Au. In this way, it is shown that using a different arrangement of stripping foils, and accelerating K-shell ions in the AGS, an h=3 mode for Au is possible in the Booster.
