Title: A cross section measurement of charm hyperons Ξ$$+\atop{c}$$ and Ξ$$0\atop{c}$$ in 250 GeV p/K/π-nucleon interactions

Fermilab Experiment 769 used a charge-selected, hadron beam of mean energy 250 GeV/c, composed of pions, kaons, and protons, impinging on beryllium, aluminum, copper and tungsten targets. Using a sample of approximately 4000 Ξ$$-\atop{s}$$ → Λ0π- decays, measurements of the charm baryon forward cross sections times branching ratio π±N → Ξ$$+\atop{c}$$X and π±N → Ξ$$0\atop{c}$$X are presented. Upper limits on α x BR are also determined for the states Ξ$$+\atop{c}$$ → Ξ$$-\atop{s}$$π+π+ and Ξ$$0\atop{c}$$ → Ξ$$-\atop{s}$$π+ produced in (p, π+, π-, K+, K-)-nucleon interactions.
