Studies of the Standard Model and Beyond at the Energy and Intensity Frontiers
- Univ. of Mississippi, Oxford, MS (United States)
This is the final report of research conducted by the University of Mississippi HEP group on the D0 experiment, supported by DOE grant number DE-SC0010371 through April 2014. Dr. Breese Quinn’s group on D0 led precision measurements of the W boson mass, as well as several other electroweak measurements utilizing the full Tevatron dataset. The research supported by this grant resulted in the publication of papers containing several of the world’s most precise measurements of key electroweak physics phenomena, including the mass of the W boson and asymmetries of W and Z boson production and decay. These results will enable a deeper understanding of the Standard Model of particle physics, and help to answer questions such as the exact nature of the recently discovered Higgs boson.
