Casting Porosity-Free Grain Refined Magnesium Alloys
- Case Western Reserve University
The objective of this project was to identify the root causes for micro-porosity in magnesium alloy castings and recommend remedies that can be implemented in production. The findings confirm the key role played by utilizing optimal gating and risering practices in minimizing porosity in magnesium castings.
