In the current prestack migration process the source information (position, signature) and the primary response are specified as input and, for a given macro velocity model, this input is transformed into a reflectivity model of the subsurface (structural model). In this paper it is shown that the multiple response can be migrated as well if the total response (primaries and multiples) is specified as the source wave field. Hence, migration of multiples involves complex areal source wave fields.
