Internet and Arizona Public Service Corporation
Every company is facing increased competition to lower their costs; therefore, they are having to explore new methods of information exchange, internal communications, and in general doing more with what they currently have. The easiest way to achieve some of these cost-cutting measures is through the use of the Internet or a scaled-back internal Internet. Reference 1 discusses how the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is utilizing the Internet and demonstrates what will be available from the NRC through Mosaic. In this paper we examine what has been and is currently being undertaken at the Arizona Public Service (APS) Company`s Palo Verde nuclear generating station to show other companies what has been accomplished to date.
