Title: Rheological properties of aqueous solutions of a copolymer of acrylic and phenylacrylic acids

At present, water-soluble polymers have a wide range of applications in various fields, including the oil industry. Rheological properties of aqueous solutions of a copolymer of acrylic and phenylacrylic acids were studied in a wide range of shear rates and stresses. The viscosity and yield stress of the solutions are related to the copolymer concentration, the temperature, and the content of salts in the water. The mechanism of development of viscoelastic properties of the aqueous copolymer solutions is considered, which takes into account the flexibility of polymeric chains and the possibility of crosslinking by interactions between polar functional groups. One aspect of the practical application of the copolymer solutions is discussed.
