On the Breakup of Low Energy {sup 8}B

Coulomb dissociation has been proposed on many occasions as a means of determining the interaction between fragments at low relative energies. For the case of {sup 8}B the main motivation has been the determination of the S{sub 17}. This method is briefly reviewed from a theoretical point of view, and the validity of certain approximations is discussed, focusing on the sub-Coulomb Notre Dame (ND) regime.
