Support of the Division of Particles and Fields Conference to be held at UCLA January 5-9, 1999
The Division of Particles and Fields Conference was held at UCLA in 1999. Presentations given at the DPF99 conference have contributed to the scientific field by allowing an exchange of information in both theory and experiment from all relevant areas within the Division of Particles and Fields. The conference web page can be found at: http://www.physics.ucla.edu/dpf99/ DPF99 organizers together with UCLA Library staff pioneered informational resources for research by publishing the conference proceedings entirely in electronic format, increasing accessibility to the scientific community and the general public. The electronic proceedings can be found at: http://www.dpf99.library.ucla.edu/ The DPF99 Conference included outreach activites designed to educate the general public concerning the science of particles and fields. Presentations at the conference consisted of: 'The Particle Adventure and other presentations' organized by QuarNet and presented by. Andria Erzberger (QuarkNet), Tom Jordan (QuarkNet), Marge Bardeen (Fermilab), Liz Quigg (Fermilab), Michael Barnett (LBNL), and Randy Ruchti (Notre Dame), held on January 7 from 2-5PM. Town Meeting, with Martha Krebs, Director of the Office of Science, US Dept. of Energy held on January 7 from 5:15-6:30PM
