Title: Vector-meson--nucleon couplings at spacelike momentum transfer

We have analyzed the presently available experimental data on the electromagnetic form factors for the nucleon to obtain information on the vector-meson--nucleon couplings. We obtained a strong momentum dependence of both vector and tensor couplings at spacelike momentum transfers. In addition a strong momentum dependence is found for the ratio of tensor/vector couplings. This indicates a small tensor coupling at {ital t}=0, despite a large value at {ital t}={ital m}{sub {ital V}}{sup 2}. The results depend critically on the measured ratio of Pauli/Dirac em-proton form factors. So further measurements on all {ital t} would be of great interest concerning our understanding of the nucleon structure.
