An apparatus for lining a gutter having a downspout and horizontal support members is described comprising: a strip of waterproof, normally flat, resilient material of substantially uniform cross section having a drain hole therein; the strip being deformed out of its flat shape to a U-shaped transverse cross-section and being located within the gutter beneath the horizontal support members, having a width dimension sufficient to traverse a cross-section of the gutter underneath the horizontal members having a first edge of the strip contacting a back wall of the gutter, a second edge of the strip contacting a front wall of the gutter and forming a U-shaped cross section; and the drain hole being located above the gutter downspout to facilitate draining.
