Case history of an ethylene tank car explosion

This article discusses the explosion of an ethylene oxide (EO) tank car while it was in storage at a cleaning facility. The results of the investigation into the explosion are presented and discussed in details. Recommendations are made for preparing a tank car for servicing to avoid future accidents.
