This book deals with the dynamic properties of perigean (and proxigean) spring tides and their special vulnerability to coastal flooding when impelled by strong onshore winds. A 400-year computer printout of the discrete astronomical circumstances producing such tides has been closely correlated with outstanding cases of tidal flooding from 1635 to the present.
