The primary objective of this study was to collect baseline data to gain an understanding of geologic and geochemical characteristics that may influence gas production from the Antrim Shale. Additional objectives were to identify the aspects of Antrim Shale geology which most affect the accumulation of mobile gas concentrations and reservoir permeability, and which therefore would be promising candidates for future research.
