Discussion: the radiobiological bases of TBI

With the use of TBI, dose limiting normal tissues must be considered in treatment planning. The sensitivity of the lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and heart are discussed in view of cell survival curves of proposed target cells with emphasis upon radiation fractionation as a dose-limiting factor.
