A portable programmable dc motor controller, with features not available on commercial instruments, was developed at Sandia National Laboratories, Livermore, for controlling fixtures during welding processes. The controller can be used to drive any dc motor having tachometer feedback and moter requirements not exceeding 30 volts, 3 amperes. Among the controller's features are delayed start time, upslope time, speed, and downslope time.
