Collection of nuclear power plant startup data for simulator verification

A program was carried out by Arizona Nuclear Power Project (ANPP) and Combustion Engineering Inc. (C-E) personnel to collect plant performance data for use in simulator verification during the initial power ascension testing at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS) Unit 1. The program was developed by C-E as part of a larger scope program for simulator validation, specifically for collecting data for verification of nuclear power plant simulators. This program took full advantage of the extensive testing planned for the unit 1 power ascension. As part of this test program, a number of evolutions and transients are performed that are not planned to be repeated during the plant's life.
