Progress is reported in the following areas: (1) petroleum effects on chemosensory systems in the kelp crab, Pugettia producta, and the California spiny lobster, Panulirus interruptus; (2) chemosensory bradycardia in the spiny lobster; (3) petroleum effects on epithelial potentials in the coelenterate Tubularia; (4) petroleum effects on bioluminescence in the marine dinoflagellate, Pyrocystis fusiformis; and (5) analysis of petroleum for neurological testing on crustacea.
