Study of pC interactions at p/sub p/ = 10 GeV/c with emission of cumulative deuterons
We have analyzed pC interactions at p/sub p/ = 10 GeV/c accompanied by emission of deuterons with momenta from 0.6 to about 1.3 GeV/c in the interval of angles exceeding 135/sup 0/. The study was carried out using photographs in a 2-m propane bubble chamber. The results on the cross sections for these interactions, the characteristics of secondary particles in these interactions, and the azimuthal correlations between the cumulative baryons and other protons turned out to be close to the data on pC interactions with emission of cumulative protons. About the same results were obtained both for the size of the region of emission of the knocked out nucleons which, as the result of coalescence, produce a cumulative deuteron and for the size of the emission region of nucleons in events with a cumulative proton.
