Deepwater drilling declines in 1981

This article reports on the decline in deepwater exploratory wells drilled in 1981. This article presents an overview on Deepwater wells drilled in 1971-1982, and supplies information on deepwater wells to be drilled in the future. Water depth, well location, rig name, and name of operator are given. Some information on development wells is also provided. Interestingly, thirty-seven deepwater exploratory wells were drilled during 1981, a 42% drop from the previous year.
