The objective of the study described was (1) to perform a preliminary analysis of hazards to sheltered personnel in a blast-fire environment produced by the detonation of a 1 MT nuclear weapon near the ground surface, and (2) to lay the basic ground work for developing a consistent, formal methodology for estimating the probability of people survival in a blast-fire environment.
