Title: East coast offshore spill countermeasures seminar

Abstract

On January 20 and 21, 1981, the East Coast Offshore Spill Countermeasures Seminar was held in St. Johns, Newfoundland. The purpose of the seminar was to discuss the present state of the art of technology for responding to offshore oil spills, and to determine the need for new and innovative oil spill clean up techniques. The major conclusions and recommendations concerning physical and chemical countermeasures, and surveillance and tracking during offshore oil spills are summarized.
