This book is a condensation of all technical reports published by the IEA on the SSPS project in Almeria (Spain) and of the interviews conducted by the author with experts in this field. It is written in a manner which should easily be understood by technically interested laymen and by semi-technical project managers tackling problems associated with the use of solar power for the production of electrical energy. The reader should benefit from the fact that the book is written by an outsider to the project who gives an uncommitted view of the potential of solar power utilization, as well as of the problems that are to be solved to achieve this desirable goal.
