Purification of air from formaldehyde admixture in the sorption-catalytic regime on manganese-containing catalysts
It has been shown that the sorption-catalytic process of the purification of air from admixture of styrene proceeds effectively on palladium-manganese catalysts (1) with a content of palladium equal to 0.23-0.5%. To study the possibility of decreasing the content of the noble metal, the development of the surface, and the increase in the sorption capacity of the catalysts, which can be used for the purification of industrial effluent gases, we studied, in the formaldehyde absorption reaction, contacts based on palladized manganese oxide deposited on natural mordenite (MnO/sub 2/ content 6% Pd 0.06%) and on alumina carrier based on ..gamma..-Al/sub 2/O/sub 3/ (MnO/sub 2/ content 12%, Pd 0.06%), and also on a palladium pyrolusite catalyst (palladium content 0.23%).
