This report is the third report of the Expert Panel on the Quantification of Seismic Margins. The objective of this report is to present detailed guidelines for the performance of seismic margin reviews of nuclear power plants. The guidelines presented in this report are based on the Panel's second report entitled ''An Approach to the Quantification of Seismic Margins in Nuclear Power Plants.'' It is intended that these guidelines be used in at least one trial plant review to demonstrate whether the approach and the quantification techniques are adequate. Based on lessons learned from these trial reviews, the Panel can then be more prescriptive about defining guidelines for general use. 22 refs., 12 figs., 15 tabs.
