Oleophilic Sieve seeks interest in public offering
Oleophilic Sieve Development of Canada Ltd is seeking expression of interest for a public stock offering to finance further development of its process. The process has a large number of applications that range from mined tar sand extraction to gold recovery from river sands. The Oleophilic Sieve Process takes a unique approach to oil sand separation. It does not require density differences to recover bitumen from sand and water but makes use of the affinity of bitumen for an oil-loving sieve. A slurry or mined oil sand is dropped onto an Oleophilic Sieve conveyor. Sand and water pass through the Sieve to a recovery unit where globules of bitumen are squeezed from the Sieve. Sieve recovers much more bitumen from a ton of mined oil sand than the Hot Water Process, particularly with low grade ores. Other advantages, the operation of the separator, testing of the process on mined oil sands and on tailings, and other applications are discussed. 2 figures, 3 tables.
