Title: Possible roles of tactical nuclear weapons in maritime conflict. Possible roles of tactical nuclear weapons in maritime conflict

The possible roles that tactical nuclear weapons might play in future US-Soviet naval warfare are re-examined. Previous studies are reviewed as are the at-sea nuclear war-fighting capabilities of the two superpowers. Implications for US maritime strategy are also presented. 11 refs.
