Title: Reaction of SO2 with transition-metal hydrides. Synthesis and structure of ( -H)2Os3(CO)10( -SO2)

Abstract

The reaction of SO2 with the unsaturated cluster ( -H)2Os3(CO)10 yields the adduct ( -H)2Os3(CO)10( -SO2). The crystal structure of the adduct was determined and is reported. The molecular structure of the adduct was also determined and is closely related to that of the methylene complex.
