Title: Prediction of performance for a fire-tube boiler with and without turbulators

Prediction of performance for a fire-tube boiler with and without turbulators A series of computer runs were made using DEPAB2 (the boiler simulation computer program). They include the runs for a fire-tube boiler as is (i.e., without turbulators), with wire-coil type turbulators, and with twisted-tape type turbulators, respectively. Output from these runs are used to evaluate the boiler seasonal performance values under the Washington, D.C. weather conditions. Results show that the turbulator increases the boiler seasonal efficiency from 2.87 to 6.08%.
